This week I received two more acceptances in my mailbox. And an invitation to an opening. Thank you Yann Sordet of Bibliotheque Mazarine for the invite and your delightful designation of “peculiar”. Thanks also to Dr. Kirsten Baumann, Director of the Landesmuseum fur Kunst und Kulturgeschichte at Stiftung Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesmuseen. Thank you.
Category: Addendum
My mailbox: 4 letters including Kassel and Frankfurt accepting Editions 13 and 4
Plus the official acceptance letter from Trier and a Thank you note from Berlin. Thanks Dr. Axel Halle, Hans Eckert, Dr. Embach, and Barbara Schneider-Kempf.
Edition 24 left for Nicolas Ducimetiere of the Bodmer Foundation in Geneva
Yesterday, my final delivery for this trip was at the Bodmer Library in Geneva Switzerland. My schedule didn’t allow me to deliver it to the Vice-Director on Tuesday so I left Addendum, Edition 24 with Ugo Rodriguez. And then I went through the truly astounding Musee Bodmer. Breath-taking display of the word! A museum founded less on the incredible content…
Edition 22 & 23 accepted in Rome.
With a sense of quiet I report. Today, Dott. Ambrogio Piazzoni, Vice Prefetto of Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, accepted one edition. He and Mrs. Vincenti, Secretary to the Library, spoke in Italian and he accepted the 2nd Addendum. Editions 22 & 23 join Gutenberg Bibles with Hubay number 33 and 34. After the summer holiday, they will let me know if…
Edition 21 accepted by the Danish Royal Library
August 6, 2014. A joy to have Steen Bille Larsen, Advisor to the Director General, accept Addendum Ed. 21, enthusiastically. He will suggest it be catalogued in Manuscripts so that it may serve its purpose – addend. The Royal Library holds Gutenberg Bible Hubay # 12, v. 2. I asked how did the Royal Library come to own that volume.…
Edition 20 left for Dr. Baumann of Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesmuseen.
Yesterday, I was received. Frau Fischbach suggested I leave the Addendum for Dr. Baumann but she herself was unable to pass it along. So I left it with Peter Becker, a guard at the front gate, who agreed to pass it on to Dr. Baumann. Perhaps this edition of Addendum will join the Rendsburg Fragment of the Gutenberg Bible in…
Edition 19 will await the return of Mr. Sordet of Bibliotheque Mazarine, Paris.
I left Addendum, Edition 19 with Michel Leon of the beautiful Bibliotheque Mazarine (with GB Hubay # 16). He will deliver it to Mr. Yann Sordet when he returns from holiday. The distorted-diamond-shaped marble floor made me so happy.
Edition 17 & 18 left for Michel Fani at Bibliotheque Nationale de France.
Today I gave two copies of the Addendum to Sylvie Turpo – mediateur cultural. She will hand them on to Michel Fani of BNF. They have two copies of the Gutenberg Bible, Hubay numbers 15 & 17. The library was a monument to thought – 4 pillars surrounding an urban forest.
Stadtbibliothek-Trier gives catalog # 14 Kgf 1 to Ed. 7.
So Professor Dr. Michael Embach of Stadtbibliothek in Trier Germany (with GB Hubay #11) accepted Addendum, Edition 7! And he told me its catalog number was 14 Kgf 1. I am so pleased to learn of its new address.
Edition 16, pending review at Bibliotheque Municipale St.Omer, France
I had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Reny Cordennier at the bibliotheque in Saint Omer. As it is a public library, and as France has strict rules on the separation between church and state, the Addendum needs to be evaluated (to determine it doesn’t belong to a state defined sect, e.g. Scientology, etc.) for it to be included in their…
